New Centre for environmental and resource economics at Menon
Kristin Magnussen and Henrik Lindhjem leave Vista Analysis to head up a new competence centre called Menon Centre for Environmental and Resource Economics (MERE). Ståle Navrud, professor at the School of Economics and Business at NMBU, will also be joining the centre in a 20% position.
Henrik, Kristin and Ståle hold PhDs in economics and have many years of experience in the use of non-market valuation methods for environmental goods, natural resources, cultural heritage, public health and other public goods. The methods are useful for most economic analyses and they have experience from many sectors, including transport, energy and environment. They also work on the analysis of policy instruments in environmental and resource economics.
– To get Kristin, Ståle and Henrik on board as part of the team will contribute to making Menon the leading institution in the area of economic analyses, states leader of the board Erik Jakobsen.
– The idea is to be even more relevant and practically useful for the public sector and other actors, than the more traditional research institutes manage to be. We also want our research and policy analysis to cross fertilise each other. We see a large potential to achieve this together with Menon, states the research director at MERE, Henrik Lindhjem.
