Øyvind Nystad Handberg is an economist with a PhD from the School of Economics and Business at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). He specializes in environmental and resource economics, with a particular focus on experimental methods and insights from behavioural economics for impact assessment. He has carried out quantitative and qualitative research projects in Zambia, Tanzania and Brazil, in addition to studies and evaluations in Norway and Vietnam. Øyvind also has extensive experience with quantitative analyses, both through applied research and other projects. He has taught several master’s courses at NMBU and the University of Oslo, and has had a research stay at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
At Menon, Øyvind works mainly on climate, environmental and development issues. He has carried out projects for a range of Norwegian ministries, agencies and municipalities. Øyvind is also involved in several research projects related to internalizing environmental and cultural externalities for policy making.
