Lars Martin Haugland

Lars Martin is a senior economist at Menon Economics, with core expertise in socio-economic analysis, methodology development, quantitative analysis, and assessments, particularly through work on concept evaluations (KVU), quality assurance phases KS1 and KS2, and various socio-economic studies. He has extensive experience in evaluations and analyses within the transportation sector, including road, rail, maritime, and aviation. Over time, he has developed specialized expertise in different types of transport and logistics analyses. In his projects, Lars Martin has focused heavily on innovative methodological development, such as queue modeling (capacity modeling), route choice analysis (transport analysis), and forecasting. He has also worked on several quality assurance projects for major road infrastructure projects related to the National Transport Plan (NTP). Additionally, he is part of Menon’s core team for both the NGM framework agreement and the NOREG2 project, which serves as the foundation for the National Freight Model. Beyond his work in transportation analysis, Lars Martin is responsible for the development and maintenance of Menon’s database, which contains financial data for all accounting-obligated companies dating back to 2003. Lars Martin holds a Master’s degree in economics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and Seoul National University in South Korea. Among his greatest strengths is his ability to tackle large and complex challenges through innovative and data-driven methods, enhancing both the quality and credibility of the analyses he conducts.
