On behalf of Ågotnes Næringspark AS, Menon Economics has conducted a social cost-benefit analysis of relocating the cargo port of the Port of Bergen from the city centre to Ågotnes in Fjell municipality. Bergen City Council has long desired to move the cargo port out of the city centre. Currently, the cargo port is located at Dokken in central Bergen, close to surrounding residential areas and office buildings. This makes the areas particularly suitable for urban development with great potential for establishing attractive housing, commercial properties, and communal spaces. If this potential is to be realised, the current port activity must be relocated.
