On behalf of Halden Kjernekraft, Menon has assessed the economic impact of establishing a nuclear power plant in Halden Municipality. The nuclear power plant is planned with one to four Small Modular Reactors (SMR) with a combined capacity between 300 and 1 200 MW annually. The analysis is based on Menon’s economic impact model and data from Halden Kjernekraft. We have also examined the role of the nuclear power plant in the regional power system, as well as nuclear power as a source of increased competitive advantage for the industry in Halden.
