Menon is conducting a socio-economic impact analysis of the Southern Region’s ports in Ireland

On behalf of the Southern Regional Assembly, Menon is conducting a socio-economic impact analysis of the Southern Region’s ports in Ireland. As an island nation, Ireland is heavily reliant on its commercial ports for international trade. The ports are also seen as vital enablers of various sectors. As well as assessing the ports’ contribution to the local, regional, and national economies, the analysis will assess the potential for economic growth in emerging marine industries, including offshore wind, alternative fuels, fishing and aquaculture, and marine tourism. The analysis aims to create a solid foundation of evidence to support the development of a regional port strategy as well as recommendations at the regional level for stronger national policies.
