Oddbjørn holds a degree in economics from the University of Oslo and the Toulouse School of Economics, specializing in industrial economics. He is an expert in the seafood industry, possessing in-depth insight into the regulations governing the sector and a comprehensive understanding of the structure and economics of the industry. At Menon, Oddbjørn has conducted a wide range of analyses covering the entire seafood value chain. He specializes in analyses at the intersection of regulation and industrial development. He has also worked extensively on taxation of the seafood industry in Norway and abroad. He leads Menon’s seafood team alongside partner and head of research Leo Grünfeld.
Oddbjørn has work experience from the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries, where he was employed in the Fisheries and Aquaculture Department for five years. At the ministry, Oddbjørn worked on development of the licensing systems for both the fisheries and the aquaculture industry. He played a central role in the ministry’s work on several white papers on regulation of the industry and was also part of the secretariat for the public committee that assessed a resource rent tax for the aquaculture industry in 2019.
