Sebastian Winther-Larsen holds an MSc in Economics and Finance from the University of Bath and an MSc in Computational Physics from the University of Oslo. He has conducted research on how the inclusion of computations in science education can alter students’ understanding, as Research Scholar the Center for Computing in Science Education. He has also been a guest lecturer in machine learning at the Department of Economics.

At Menon, Sebastian has conducted various calculations related to the economic viability of climate adaptation for governmental organizations, municipalities, and private enterprises. He has moreover been involved in developing environmentally extended input-output models for environmental accounting purposes. Sebastian is also part of Menon’s research project to develop a regional macroeconomic equilibrium model for the Norwegian economy, known as NoReg 2, where he works on expanding the model with a dedicated climate module.

As part of Menon’s focus on data-driven analysis and artificial intelligence (AI), Sebastian has provided advice on AI implementation to governmental organizations and private enterprises. He has also worked on prototyping and operationalizing data science models and pipelines in both the private and public sector. This work involves collaboration with clients’ internal IT environments, external software consultants, and knowledge of modern cloud solutions and analytical tools.
